Private Pay & Insurance

Mindful Milestones Physical Therapy is a private-pay practice and does not participate directly with insurance providers. We are happy to provide a superbill after your visit, which you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement, depending on the specifics of your individual plan. We encourage you to contact your insurance provider before beginning care to learn about your out-of-network benefits and determine whether reimbursement may be available to you.

Our private-pay model allows us to provide a more personalized and flexible approach to care. Without the restrictions often associated with insurance-based care, we are able to spend more time getting to know each child and family and create an individualized plan based on their unique needs and goals. This model also allows for care to take place in the home or community when appropriate, as well as greater flexibility for communication and support between visits.

Direct Access in Rhode Island

Rhode Island is a direct-access state for physical therapy, which means you can seek an evaluation and begin physical therapy without a physician’s referral. A referral is not required to initiate care; however, if treatment continues beyond 90 days, a referral may be required.

Although a referral is not necessary to begin physical therapy, I strongly value communication and collaboration with your child’s healthcare team. When appropriate, I welcome the opportunity to work alongside physicians, specialists, therapists, educators, and other providers. I believe that this collaborative, team-based approach can be an important part of providing comprehensive care and helping each child reach their goals.

Payment Information

Payment for services is accepted in the form of HSA/FSA funds, credit card, cash, or check and is due at the time of service. Pricing may vary depending on the location of services, including in-home versus clinic-based care.

Discounted treatment plans may also be available through visit packages, depending on your child’s individual needs and plan of care.

If you have questions about pricing, payment, or which option may work best for your family, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We would be happy to connect with you and discuss options that may work for you.
